Bank Indonesia (BI) will release a new regulation (Peraturan Bank Indonesia or PBI) concerning the integrated payment system called the National Payment Gateway. Under the new regulation, BI will regulate the interconnection system for National Payment Gateway and any domestic transaction will be processed through the connection of the National Payment Gateway network.

Before being released to public, BI appointed Dentons HPRP as the legal consultant to review the new regulation in purpose of reviewing any legal aspects that may occur in the implementation of the new regulation. Led by Partners, Al Hakim Hanafiah and Erwin Kurnia Winenda, supported by Associate Lawyers Dinda Karina and Muhammad Reza Alfiandri, Dentons HPRP’s team has been providing advice and input from the legal point of view. The new regulation is expected to be implemented next year.
