Dentons HPRP partner and head of Real Property practice group Al Hakim Hanafiah was quoted in a Nikkei Asian Review article titled “Indonesian developers count on tax amnesty boost.”
The article discussed the tax amnesty’s impact on the property sector. According to the article, the property sector has been widely touted as one of the sectors that could benefit most from the program, after the government included mortgage-backed securities and real estate investment trusts on a list of eight recommended investment instruments for taxpayers repatriating assets. Related to this, Al Hakim shared his view in this article that if done smartly, investment in property can be an investment that is productive.
