Bisnis Indonesia, a prominent business publication in Indonesia, has published an article which discusses arbitration in Indonesia. Dentons HPRP’s partners Constant M. Ponggawa and Erwin Kurnia Winenda were quoted in an article headlined “BANI Harus Terbuka” (BANI Must Be Open).
In the article, Ponggawa stressed that trust is a crucial issue when disputing parties appoint an arbitration body. Moreover, Winenda said that the Indonesian Arbitration Body (Badan Arbitrase Nasional Indonesia or BANI) must be more open to foreign arbiters, like the Singapore International Arbitration Center (SIAC) which has professional arbiters from Hong Kong, London, and even proficient arbiters from Indonesia. The article was published on April 12.
In Dentons HPRP, it is one of the firm’s objectives for clients to avoid litigation, arbitration, or bankruptcy, but once it becomes inevitable, Dentons HPRP team can assist and represent clients with all necessary legal support.
