Entering the digital era, more people are performing activities, including trade transactions and sharing information, through digital media. The Government of Indonesia expects activities through digital media will be more closely regulated under the revision of the Electronic Information and Transactions Act (UUITE), which was released recently. To get more comprehension about the law, the Royal Primary Academy (RPA), an international standard school in Jakarta, invited Timothy Joseph Inkiriwang, an Dentons HPRP associate lawyer, to speak in a training session (12/1).
On this occasion, Timothy spoke about the understanding of electronic information and transaction terms, prohibitions and consequences under the latest version of UUITE, specifically those related to social media posts. The training aimed at providing comprehensive awareness about regulations in using social media in Indonesia. An audience consisting of RPA’s owners, teachers, and staff enthusiastically took part in the panel discussion.
