Dentons HPRP is committed to making a continuous contribution to the development of legal practice in Indonesia. Participating in law students’ activities is one example of the firm’s commitment.

Recently, Hendra Ong, partner of Dentons HPRP, participated as one of adjudicators in the Pelita Harapan Business Law Competition II, organized by the Faculty of Law, Universitas Pelita Harapan (UPH). The series of competitions had expert adjudicators from different backgrounds, such as legal practitioners, government officials, and academics. As part of the judging process, Hendra with other judges had the chance to comment directly to the participants. This direct interaction was aimed at the participants being able to comprehend better developing and drafting a contract and to negotiate it, so that they could apply these skills in their work later.

The series of competitions, moots, legal opinions, and contract drafting & negotiation, ran from 17 to 20 May 2017. Held at UPH, Karawaci, May 17 to 20, 2017, the competitions were attended by 49 law students from 23 prominent universities in Indonesia. This was Dentons HPRP’s second participation in this event, after Dentons HPRP’s participation in the 2015 competition.
