Passengers of commercial airlines often experience flight delays. When the delay is caused by the airlines, passengers have rights to receive compensation, as generally regulated in the Indonesian Aviation Law No. 1 of 2009 and Regulation of Minister of Transport (Peraturan Menteri Perhubungan) No. 89 of 2015. To provide more awareness on the regulation regarding flight delays, Dentons HPRP partner Hendra Ong was invited to share in a national television program, Indonesia Morning Show, aired on a national television station, Net.TV (25/4).
In his interview, Hendra said that airlines are obliged to inform passengers if their flight is going to be delayed. If the delay is caused by the airline, then the airline must provide compensation, from drinking water, snacks, a full meal, cash, overnight accommodation, full refund, and transfers to another flight, depending on how long the delay is.
Hendra’s full interview can be found in the video.
