PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) with three other public transport operators signed a shareholders agreement for the implementation of a payment integration system for intermodal transportation (15/7) as a follow-up of the heads of agreement signed in June 2020. A Dentons HPRP team led by Hendra Ong, supported by Abraham Sylvester Harryandi (Senior Associate) and Aditya Parlindungan Pratama Sitanggang (Associate), provided legal assistance to PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) in this transaction.
The four operators were PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) as the operator of MRT Jakarta, PT Transportasi Jakarta as the operator of Transjakarta, PT Jakarta Propertindo (Perseroda) as the operator of the Jakarta light rail transit (LRT Jakarta), and PT Moda Integrasi Transportasi Jabodetabek, a joint venture between PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) and PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero) which manages 72 stations in Jabodetabek. The four operators have agreed to establish a joint venture, namely PT Jakarta Lingko Indonesia. The joint venture will study and implement the most suitable payment integration system for the intermodal transportation in Jabodetabek and will then choose a strategic partner for its implementation.
The Deputy Minister of BUMN RI, the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province, the Minister or Transportation of RI, as well as a number of officials of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, the Ministry of Transportation and the Ministry of BUMN witnessed the signing ceremony in Jakarta.
Retained as the legal consultant since last year, Dentons HPRP has been assisting PT MRT Jakarta in various projects, among others, the preparation of Phase 2A MRT transportation construction, and the establishment of PT Moda Integrasi Transportasi Jabodetabek for the integration of transportation in the Greater Jakarta area.
