The government of Indonesia’s policy in President Joko Widodo’ second administration prioritizes two subjects: the plan to relocate the national capital and to formulate the omnibus law. These two policies will bring potential changes, challenges, and opportunities for business and industry in Indonesia for at least the next five years. Thus, all stakeholders must carefully address these changes and challenges to be ready to adapt to the new regulatory landscape in the future.

In consideration of this issue, Dentons HPRP held a seminar titled 'Law and Regulation Outlook 2020: The Future of Doing Business in Indonesia' on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at the Shangri-La Hotel, Jakarta, as part of Dentons HPRP 30th anniversary celebration. This event presented stakeholders from the government and industry on one stage to discuss various steps that needed to be taken to address regulation changes as impacts of the plan to relocate the national capital and to formulate the omnibus law.

The Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal, and Security Affairs, Prof. Dr. Moh. Mahfud MD., S.H., opened the discussions by delivering his keynote speech.
