Dentons HPRP has been assisting PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) in its partnership with a consortium of construction companies for the Development of MRT Jakarta Phase 2A. The contract, CP203, was signed by PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) and Sumitomo Mitsui Construction Company – Hutama Karya Joint Operation (SMCC-HK JO). The Governor of Jakarta and the Japanese Ambassador to Indonesia attended the signing ceremony in Jakarta (20/4).

Under the contract, which has a total value of IDR 4.6 trillion (USD 318.45 million), this major project is part of the National Strategic Project governed by Presidential Regulation No.56/2018. The construction work will start in September 2021 and is expected to be completed in August 2027.

Retained as the legal consultant for two years, a Dentons HPRP team led by Hendra Ong (Partner), supported by Abraham Sylvester Harryandi (Senior Associate), Josha Jehuda Ponggawa (Associate), and Inaya Safa Nadira  (Associate), has been assisting PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) in various projects, among others, the preparation of Phase 2A MRT transportation construction, and the establishment of PT Moda Integrasi Transportasi Jabodetabek for the integration of transportation in the Greater Jakarta area.
