Appointed as legal counsel for Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) in Indonesia, Dentons HPRP continues its assistance with another land acquisition in an industrial estate. The aim of the land acquisition is AWS’s data center expansion in Indonesia.

Led by Partner Al Hakim Hanafiah, and supported by Senior Associate lawyer, Trijoyo Ariwibowo, and Associate lawyers, Hilwa Adwani Az Zahra, Alma Almira, Kevin Silitonga and Nikita Priscila, Dentons HPRP’s team assisted the company in the acquisition of another land site adjacent to its current data center site. The team represented AWS in providing legal advisory, conducting land due diligence, negotiating transactions, and preparing the required documents, mainly the conditional land sale and purchase agreement, the tenant compliance agreement, and land sale and purchase deeds. Furthermore, the team also negotiated and created adjustments to the current documents for AWS’s existing site to bring them into line with the agreed arrangements for this new site.

In addition to assisting the company in the transaction, the team also assisted AWS to administer and obtain a permit for conducting the acquisition of the new site. At the end of the transaction, Dentons HPRP’s team successfully assisted AWS in preparing a set of transaction document forms for any transaction related to land acquisition in the future.

Dentons HPRP has been providing legal assistance to AWS in Indonesia since the establishment of its data storage service provider in Indonesia as part of Amazon’s global expansion. Recently, the firm has successfully assisted the company in a New and Renewable Energy Electricity Supply Agreement with PT PLN (Persero) (“PLN”).
