In commemoration of its 34th anniversary, Dentons HPRP recently organized a seminar titled "Dentons HPRP Law and Regulations Outlook 2024: Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing Ministry (PUPR) Highlights Updates on the Development of Nusantara Capital City (IKN) in Alignment with Targets and Roadmap" on February 26, 2024.
The seminar, aimed at shedding light on the latest developments surrounding the creation of Indonesia's new capital city, Nusantara Capital City (IKN), brought together key stakeholders and experts. Sartono, Managing Partner of Dentons HPRP, emphasized the significance of the IKN project, which commenced in 2020 and is slated for completion by 2045, stressing the firm's commitment to facilitating collaboration for the project's success and its positive impact on the national economy.
Keynote speaker Danis H. Sumadilaga, Head of the Task Force for Nusantara Capital City Development, provided insights into the project's progress. The seminar featured in-depth discussions across two panel sessions. The first panel explored the readiness and investment opportunities of IKN, while the second panel delved into the financing aspects of the national strategic project.
Distinguished speakers included Troy Pantouw from the Nusantara Capital City Authority, Berly Martawardaya from INDEF, Irman Boyle from Indonesia Infrastructure Finance (IIF), and Mohammad Faisal from the Center of Reform on Economics (CORE) Indonesia, alongside Partners from Dentons HPRP, Winda Tania and Michael A. Kaihatu.
Maurice Maulana Situmorang, Partner at Dentons HPRP, concluded the seminar by emphasizing the importance of coordination among regulatory bodies, industry players, and the business community to ensure the successful implementation of strategic government policies such as the relocation of the capital city, ultimately driving Indonesia's economic growth.
The annual event, which was being held for the 4th time, attracted a diverse audience, including representatives from chambers of commerce, international business associations, media, and Dentons HPRP's clients. It was also live-streamed on Dentons HPRP's YouTube channel, reaching over 2000 viewers.
