Dentons HPRP has successfully assisted Textron Financial Corporation, a global leader in aviation finance, with two complex lease terminations in Indonesia. Both transactions involved complex cross-border considerations, covering legal frameworks in both the USA and Indonesia.

Recently, Dentons HPRP’s aviation team, led by Hendra Ong (Partner) and supported by Ken Atyk Nastiti (Senior Associate) and Gregorius Alisander Ponglapik (Associate), completed the termination of a lease between Textron and PT Jhonlin Air Transport involving a Beechcraft King Air 350i aircraft. After Jhonlin exercised its purchase option under the lease terms, Dentons HPRP reviewed all transaction documents and managed the necessary filings with the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA), including the revocation of IDERA. Their precise handling ensured a smooth legal process and full compliance with Indonesian regulations.

Earlier this year, the team assisted Textron after a Bell 429 helicopter leased to PT Whitesky Aviation was involved in an accident resulting in a total loss. Despite this, Whitesky opted to purchase the aircraft’s salvage rights. Dentons HPRP played a crucial role in coordinating the lease termination, title transfer, and facilitating the insurance claim disbursement for Whitesky’s new helicopter procurement. The firm also managed the deregistration of the aircraft and other related filings with the DGCA.
