Dentons HPRP (Hanafiah Ponggawa & Partners) celebrated Indonesia’s 2025 National Batik Day in a special way. In addition to honoring Indonesia’s cultural heritage, the firm also signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Ministry of Creative Economy, witnessed by Yusril Ihza Mahendra, Coordinating Minister for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections, during the inauguration of Dentons HPRP’s new office in Jakarta.

“We are proud to announce Dentons HPRP’s collaboration with the Ministry of Creative Economy of the Republic of Indonesia in supporting MSMEs in the creative industry sector, including batik artisans and batik business owners,” said Sartono, Managing Partner of Dentons HPRP, in his remarks during the National Batik Day celebration held at the firm’s new office, Wisma 46, 4th Floor, Jakarta, on Friday evening (3/10/2025).

According to Sartono, this collaboration reflects Dentons HPRP’s strong commitment to providing tangible support to MSMEs in the creative industry — through education and pro bono legal services — as part of the firm’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives.

This initiative also aligns with the coordination of intellectual property (IP) registration under the Ministry of Law and Human Rights, which operates under the Coordinating Ministry for Law, Human Rights, Immigration, and Corrections.

In his remarks, Coordinating Minister Yusril Ihza Mahendra expressed his support for the strategic collaboration between Dentons HPRP and the Ministry of Creative Economy in empowering MSMEs, particularly batik artisans.

“For me, this is not merely about Dentons HPRP relocating to a new office. It represents a transformation — a symbol of their growing presence and commitment to delivering accessible legal services that help Indonesia’s batik industry compete globally,” said Yusril.

Following the MoU signing ceremony with Cecep Rukandi, Deputy for Strategic Development of the Ministry of Creative Economy, Sartono added:

“At this special moment, we believe that supporting MSMEs is not only a social responsibility but also an essential part of building a globally competitive creative economy for Indonesia — while staying rooted in our cultural heritage.”
