The Government of Indonesia recently issued Government Regulation No 96. of 2021 concerning Implementation of Mineral and Coal Mining Business Activities (“GR 96 2021”). This new regulation includes several provisions which are considered significant changes from the previous regulation issued in 2010. It may provide opportunities for businesses to expand their mining business in Indonesia.
